Lace Soap Bags For The Mother's Day Stall !
I made these on Tuesday for the Mother's day stall they have every year at my son Jack's school. I wanted to get some done so I could show Jodie the fundraising co-ordinator at school to see if she would be happy with them. I saw her today and she said they are lovely , could I make some more. I think they are really sweet and very easy to make.I bought a packet of pure white soap 8 in the packet, then I used left over lace from making curtains cut double the size of the soap and hemmed the top and sewed up the side and bottom turned inside out and popped the soap in the bags twisted the wire from the rose around the top tied with pink ribbon and twisted some little pearls around and made little tags on the computer and printed them out and stuck them with double sided tape to pink card stock cut to size and punched a hole at one end and threaded it on the pink ribbon before tying the second time. How easy is that.
Here is a photo of my supplies you can really make them as fancy or as plain as you like.
I would really love to hear what other gifts people make for their Mother's day stalls. So please I'd love you to share all your ideas with me and all the other simpleliving readers....

ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the time to post Jodie.
ReplyDeleteI have made another 24 lace bags to give to you when I see you next...
These are super little bags. Very pretty and as you say great for gifts. You could also make lavender bags for hanging in clothes, though you'd want to secure the tops. I do hope the stall goes well. I have made some little potpourri sachets you might like to try see on my blog http://dawntheconstantcrafter.blogspot.com/
