Freeze your garlic !
I've been doing this for a while now so I wanted to share with you all..
Just another way to save money and not throw out garlic that has gone rotten before you've got to use it.
When I buy my garlic now I break all the cloves off the knob and put into a zip lock bag in the freezer and when I need some garlic for a recipe, I take some out and peel it, it slices up like butter.
I also freeze ginger and turmeric and use them often in my cooking..so no more waste..
Thanks for some interesting info
ReplyDeleteBrilliant Sherri, thanks for the tip. I hate waste but sometimes have to throw out my ginger as it goes mouldy before being all used, now I will try freezing it and see how that works.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing this. I will definitely be doing this from now on.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip Sherrie. I grow my own garlic and find that last seasons harvest can start to deteriorate about this time of the year. Freezing whats left will see me through to the next harvest.
ReplyDeleteWow! Clever! I grow my own garlic too and while I like the rope of it on the wall, it would be better to be able to keep it all year. Ginger is even worse to keep good. Will definitely try it with ginger!
