<b>I love recycling ..finding a use for things so many others just toss in the bin..</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After finishing all the rice in this fabric bag I decided to use it and make oven mitts..</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Boy oven mitts are so handy in the kitchen... I use mine just about daily ..to remove my bread from bread maker to getting things out of the oven..The print is on both sides of the bag so will make two sets..Thinking there would be plenty of tutorials on the net ..but I guess one more wont hurt.. These would also make great Christmas gifts ..Still working on the tutorial ..hope to have it up in the next few days..</div>

<div>
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Make your own protection guard card for a few cents..I've been planing to do this blog for many months. finally
its here...I keep seeing them selling protection guard cards on the shopping show and
they are selling them 2 for $50 plus $10 postage. I say save your money and make
your own..So many people these days are getting skimmed a friend of mine got
skimmed just recently its a pretty scary thought, that people can just walk past
you with a skimmer and you wouldn't even know it ...until you check your bank
account and find money has disappeared from your account and it could be months
before your bank refunds you the money or you could be on holiday, what a
disaster that would be ...Any way back to making your own.This is how I made
mine, I just used an old plastic card the same size as my credit card and
covered it with aluminum foil and you place it in your wallet or purse next to your credit cards and it
stops any one skimming your card ..too easy ...I tested it out when we went
shopping just to make sure it worked, I held my card on either side of the foil
card and it blocked all my information...So I just wanted to share this with you
all....</span></span></div>

<b>A Quick, Easy, Healthy, Tasty Snack !</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Want to make something tasty to snack on while watching a good movie or any time really ..</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I made a few big bowls of pop corn today and it went down a treat with every one..</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I popped my corn in a pop corn maker but of course if you don't have one you can use a pot on the stove top..Then I added a good grinding of Hymalayan pink salt, which is full of minerals and tastes great on just about everything..and about a tablespoon or two of extra virgin coconut oil. This weather you may need to pop your coconut oil into some warm water so it can be poured over your popped corn, give it a good toss and eat& enjoy...Extra virgin coconut oil is fabulous for a good healthy brain ...Among so many other things..just google how good coconut oil is for you and you'll be totally amazed..that's why I always make sure our pantry is well stocked with a few jars at all times...</div>

<b>Freeze your garlic</b> !</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've been doing this for a while now so I wanted to share with you all..</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Just another way to save money and not throw out garlic that has gone rotten before you've got to use it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
When I buy my garlic now I break all the cloves off the knob and put into a zip lock bag in the freezer and when I need some garlic for a recipe, I take some out and peel it, it slices up like butter. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I also freeze ginger and turmeric and use them often in my cooking..so no more waste..</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

To Keep Your Food Cold !<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgszPmdon0UaNMa34KESHGErDq1qpiSy3AcW6nEC2kc7Dtc67rrnSpbJf7gImv2Cd7bmYJMKlWAeLERFkuRPRXicrGmzDMB5n3qE6o_Isfzosy1jDa2QlRo55Lo7HZT7bynhs4WlqzpfWs/s1600/harvey+fresh+milk+cartons.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgszPmdon0UaNMa34KESHGErDq1qpiSy3AcW6nEC2kc7Dtc67rrnSpbJf7gImv2Cd7bmYJMKlWAeLERFkuRPRXicrGmzDMB5n3qE6o_Isfzosy1jDa2QlRo55Lo7HZT7bynhs4WlqzpfWs/s320/harvey+fresh+milk+cartons.jpg" width="260" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Reduce,Re-use, Recycle !</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We use UHT Long life milk and I'm always thinking how I can reuse the containers !</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is another great recycling idea..When you have finished the milk, give the carton a good rinse out and refill with water, leave an inch at the top ..to allow for expansion when water freezes...Then pop them into your freezer and you'll have plenty of ice bricks to use when you and your family go on picnics, BBQ's etc..</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These are also great to use when you go shopping and buy frozen foods to keep them cold on your way home in a cooler bag..Also in the hot weather you'll have plenty of water, when you're out .. if you are thirsty and also if you need any water for clean ups..These are also great to store in your freezer, as a freezer uses more electricity if its empty ...I'm always rethinking how to recycle and re-use things..Has any one got any other ideas of reusing these milk cartons..You could cut the tops off and use them to grow seedlings ..I've also used them to make gift tags..if you do please share..</div>

<b>Apricot,Sunflower Seed,Coconut & Hemp Seed Slice !</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I made this slice a few weeks ago but I used almonds, This recipe I used sunflower seeds which are great if making for any one with a nut allergy and a few weeks ago I purchased hemp seeds and hemp oil so I also added 2 tablespoons of hemp seeds..and its just as delicious as my last recipe..</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
While pressing the base mixture into the lined tin, I had a thought, that with the mixture I could make a raw carrot cake..So when I've made it I'll post the recipe it would be lovely with this tangy topping..<b></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So stay tuned..<b><br /></b></div>

<b> Apricot,Coconut & Hemp Seed Slice !</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I made this yesterday its so delicious and raw and healthy and Paleo ..perfect..</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And did I mention delicious...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Here is the recipe..</b>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 cups dried apricots ..sulphur free </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 cups raw sunflower seeds.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 tablespoons of hemp seeds. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 cup of desiccated coconut..</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 tablespoon coconut oil.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/2 tablespoon of lemon zest.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
pinch of celtic salt </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I put all above ingredients into my food processor and processed until
well combined, slightly sticky and crumbly, then I pressed it into my 9
inch square cake tin lined .. I lined it with a plastic grocery bag cut
in half ..and then layered each piece across the tin one way then the
other...then I put it in the freezer for a few hours ..<b> </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /><b>Tangy lemon topping..</b>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/2 cup of sunflower seeds( soak for a few hours)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 tablespoons of coconut oil.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 tablespoons of honey. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/2 tablespoon of lemon zest.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
process till smooth and creamy ..then poor over the top ..t\This mixture was quite thick so to thin it just add a little more liquid or lemon juice ...The sunflower seeds when soaked swell up..</div>

<b>These are the cotton boxer shorts I made for myself on Sunday night !</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After getting into my very very disorganized sewing room on Sunday I gave it a good declutter and clean up ..its looking pretty good today, I'm very impressed ..Just wish I could keep it looking like this..I never put things away after I either sew or craft ..tip to myself clean up after each project ..not always possible but I will try to do better...Any way after wards I decided to sew my self some boxer shorts which I wear for pj bottoms, even in winter to bed...and a reward for all my hard work..they are so quick and simple to make and probably only need about half a metre of fabric, must check next time I make another pair...depending on your size of course..Boxers also make great gifts for all the males and females in your life...I've also made them in the past for my 3 sons.....and a friend hubby for his birthday..Also I have and old torn and worn out cotton sheet that I used to make a pattern for the boxers..and it will be used to make other patterns too...<b>If any one is interested in making boxer shorts please let me know and I'll do a tutorial .. </b>Another great way to recycle ..you can see some of my sewing room ..looks nice and clean and my table free of stuff..so I can actually use it again...<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>I have been making cinnamon sugar for many many years</b> !</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But today I made it using organic cinnamon and organic coconut sugar...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I made it up in a jar ..I used 1 cup of organic sugar and 1/4 cup organic cinnamon and just shook it really well to mix it up ...And I made a label as you can see from photo above...So many uses ..it will be great sprinkled over pancakes,toast, apple crumble,stewed apple, muesli,sprinkled over yoghurt or kefir... even add some to smoothies if a little more sweetness is needed..We love making banana kefir cinnamon smoothies they are so delicious.. in a blender I throw a few peeled bananas, milk kefir and some water and a teaspoon of cinnamon and blend up ..very delicious...<b> </b></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Lengthening Jack's pajama bottoms ! </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
At the beginning of winter Jack said his pj's were to short, so rather then go buy news ones when there is still plenty of life still left in these ones. I decided to just lengthen them with some blue cotton fabric I had in my sewing room, that was left over from another project many years ago...very quick and easy to do, it took me less then half and hour..So he should get a few more winters wear out of them...before they end up in the rag bag..</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXhAQXd7gIhNB3UldaBPRL0c2PuIyJPyf2AtCKgXYzccmmPjFF1aV0VkAo8_PpEKlvlaLuhTWBkkTNnnnGGXloERb6BInF6g5vSrVl4mLHEAPo7ENvv3lpTbBSXWErf3btmgPhtoLmGIM/s1600/lengthening+pj+botttoms.+step+1+&+2+jpg.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXhAQXd7gIhNB3UldaBPRL0c2PuIyJPyf2AtCKgXYzccmmPjFF1aV0VkAo8_PpEKlvlaLuhTWBkkTNnnnGGXloERb6BInF6g5vSrVl4mLHEAPo7ENvv3lpTbBSXWErf3btmgPhtoLmGIM/s1600/lengthening+pj+botttoms.+step+1+&+2+jpg.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b> Step 1</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I unpicked the current hem, then I cut two pieces of the blue fabric to fit the width of the legs and a little extra for the seam down the side and joined it together as you can see in above photo.It's double thickness but you could join it the other way and have just single thickness and just hem the bottom of the blue fabric ..either way just as good..</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQM5ncWA2X1W7faonvs9Lf7SSeN3lf7wW4IS5jJ_5-4vZ0WEoFWAggObk-MqfyE0NSGnpWvmptZL14lc5pwv5teUpesCfmFLCmlcch8kCrjeWuF0Z1QxCzkVWPzebmuDa2F-Zw0Elm-LU/s1600/lengthening+pj+botttoms.+step++2+&+3+jpg.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQM5ncWA2X1W7faonvs9Lf7SSeN3lf7wW4IS5jJ_5-4vZ0WEoFWAggObk-MqfyE0NSGnpWvmptZL14lc5pwv5teUpesCfmFLCmlcch8kCrjeWuF0Z1QxCzkVWPzebmuDa2F-Zw0Elm-LU/s1600/lengthening+pj+botttoms.+step++2+&+3+jpg.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Step 2</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once that was done I folded the fabric back onto itself and folded the top edge over and sewing it around the cover the seam ..all done ..so it made the pj's bottoms almost another 4 inches longer..If you have boys you will know they grow upwards before they fill out that much so pants are always getting to short and yet still fit them in the waist..I have another pair to do as well ..so hope he wont need any more pj's for a few season yet...saves money and stuff going to landfill.So often we just race out and get new ones with out really thinking ..well not this time ..and they are only pj's so he only wears them to bed..so how flash do they need to be as long as they keep him warm, which they do ..so we are both happy ...<br />
<b>Note:</b> You could also add some extra fabric to the end of the sleeves if they are to short by using the same process..but I checked Jack's and they were fine..maybe something to consider next year and they still fit every where else and haven't worn out... </div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQoog65C91LkLbWCIEnMqMTXvoUIhrn2fUHj-lHZSCK_2S0HC0HAGSD7LfXRnh9f-LUSzXuxpsCl-KqHCHUddcKh2ZWlfRUM2ZrOcyf-SwXvybHdXVc_MELqMQ-wPNv-eVlucFTN45S1c/s1600/hemming+kevs+jeans+from+this+to+this.jpg" height="245" width="400" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Hemming Jeans-So they don't look like they've been hemmed !</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A few months back Kev bought himself some new jeans<b>, </b>well 5 pairs to be exact<b>, </b>well he bought 3 pairs and as they were such a good price, I said why don't you buy 2 more pairs which he did...and they look really good on him, they make his butt look sexy too...I know he gets my latest blog posts in his email, so I know if he reads them and see if he comments on his butt looking sexy in the jeans I have told him but not every any one else...well not until now...lol..</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So that will teach me, I had 5 pairs of jeans to hem ...Kev is such a shortie.. nearly all his jeans need hemming...I'm such a lucky girl...lol..</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I did a google on hemming jeans, I new the look I wanted but couldn't find anything ..the only ones I found were if they were only a little bit to long but as you can see in the above photo, they are way way to long so a little tuck wasn't going to be an option with these jeans ...I'm still chuffed with myself every time he wears them and having 5 pairs and its winter here in Oz..I'm chuffed most days, so that cheers me up ...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Tip number one always wash your jeans first as they will often shrink especially if 100% cotton...and these are... nothing worse then jeans half way up your leg, "slight exaggeration" but not a good look...hehehe</b> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>The photo below is how I cut them before sewing ...</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b> </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi31SIDyWY2K9zYyolR9J_rUJOlRJ7USblbsvU7dm7QSgdmYVdbXpnsl3GQhI3ovzkcMe1WGZ8XlxjQg9zo6nTbPDHRNb0O_uGorGGdVkawKnkecEFj_bDM_PA5O99rejr9hB03bMa1L2E/s1600/hemming+jeans+to+look+like+they+haven%27t+been+hemmed.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi31SIDyWY2K9zYyolR9J_rUJOlRJ7USblbsvU7dm7QSgdmYVdbXpnsl3GQhI3ovzkcMe1WGZ8XlxjQg9zo6nTbPDHRNb0O_uGorGGdVkawKnkecEFj_bDM_PA5O99rejr9hB03bMa1L2E/s1600/hemming+jeans+to+look+like+they+haven't+been+hemmed.jpg" height="262" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b> first I got Kev to put them on so I could measure and pin where they needed to be cut...</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>remember the saying "measure twice cut once" ... </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then all you need to do is take out the middle piece and join the original hemmed bottom piece to the jeans...that sounds easy doesn't it ...and believe me it really is..so you put right sides together and join them as close to original stitching of the original hem...like in the photo below...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP82hZIzNCaeBoj8EcMtVJiVpvY1IZjtWUYWJtAHl5Y1_II2spP0mk7EoSmWDgEhfVpgggfEhypZv2Zhxgs4mUN0DtRNc08MYhPHKc8HnodJQh3rGzkSIpG8oC3AQzgT-J-a5ZdAijYIc/s1600/hemming+kevs+jeans+from+the+inside+veiw.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP82hZIzNCaeBoj8EcMtVJiVpvY1IZjtWUYWJtAHl5Y1_II2spP0mk7EoSmWDgEhfVpgggfEhypZv2Zhxgs4mUN0DtRNc08MYhPHKc8HnodJQh3rGzkSIpG8oC3AQzgT-J-a5ZdAijYIc/s1600/hemming+kevs+jeans+from+the+inside+veiw.jpg" height="400" width="368" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
so you need to sew as close to the original edge as you can and you can neaten the edge with a zig zag stitch..I don't recommend using your over-locker for this job as the seams are way to thick and you will probably end up with a few broken sewing needles...take it from me ..that's what happened..so I'll be </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
zig zaging them all in future.. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitW3pj_t3GSjvW_fwoFxhwgzUUFchYMZf8T0HbcA9txxlNJbvTChWiN0wDlE8q2p79GfAC7Ns8DkVykzUZcbQTJnFxtxTiHB-1HqaVv614ccLl6lRNcBIyf6ukxsUvc6CSOzhPwth5NHY/s1600/Kevans+jeans+inside+hem+veiw.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitW3pj_t3GSjvW_fwoFxhwgzUUFchYMZf8T0HbcA9txxlNJbvTChWiN0wDlE8q2p79GfAC7Ns8DkVykzUZcbQTJnFxtxTiHB-1HqaVv614ccLl6lRNcBIyf6ukxsUvc6CSOzhPwth5NHY/s1600/Kevans+jeans+inside+hem+veiw.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is how it will look can you see the sewing really close to the inner edge..and this pair I used the zig zag the edge..no more broken sewing needles they cost to much to replace..</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQ0zVPM9B_P_1ArFQGVKYChxm73nW5bmAMRddpHL_VAawa1VNFRjujpVt-e6WnD9_qxaDVeSkN_xnBU155ucSe01f-7174PNvuJjDiXIb57TSaGH6m0xWTDaaarfm64QhL9SWzwDMqySQ/s1600/finished+hem+on+kevans+jeans.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQ0zVPM9B_P_1ArFQGVKYChxm73nW5bmAMRddpHL_VAawa1VNFRjujpVt-e6WnD9_qxaDVeSkN_xnBU155ucSe01f-7174PNvuJjDiXIb57TSaGH6m0xWTDaaarfm64QhL9SWzwDMqySQ/s1600/finished+hem+on+kevans+jeans.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is the finished hem no need to iron just finger press them flat ..so how easy was that ..really really easy ...happy hemming every one ...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Birthday Gifts I Made !<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>This is an acrostic cushion I made for a birthday gift for a sweet 12 year old girl ...</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It all started when I started sewing lots of fabric scraps together and I made some lovely zipper cases with them and gave them for gifts too...So after doing that I had another great idea ...I'll join some other pieces of fabrics together and make cushions, then I decided to make them even more personal and add their name and turn it into an acrostic cushion...So I joined the fabric strips together in a log cabin and in the middle I embroidered their name ...I quilted it onto a piece of cotton batting then I lined it..so that was the front completed ...Then I made the backing from some more of one of the fabrics on the front to match...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhy22OaYT3IEOEqgU3GmvM-y4QjvYg3vdwhrREV6Ay_9CsjkqaG9zHfURLrs7n6j0v-fFCN6T8O3PbyNrpsbS7-EU0br8IEW8SZ9yo55l6afgQKqzrNXipKttQLbn6pbg48-5lQshTvczY/s1600/samantha+cushion+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhy22OaYT3IEOEqgU3GmvM-y4QjvYg3vdwhrREV6Ay_9CsjkqaG9zHfURLrs7n6j0v-fFCN6T8O3PbyNrpsbS7-EU0br8IEW8SZ9yo55l6afgQKqzrNXipKttQLbn6pbg48-5lQshTvczY/s1600/samantha+cushion+2.jpg" height="373" width="400" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Here is the completed front before joining it to the back.</b>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The finished cushion measures 16 inch square or 40.5 cm square...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
To make the backing I cut two pieces of fabric 16 inches by 13 &1/2 inches or metric 40 cm x 34.5 cm. Then I hemmed both of the longest sides, the two pieces for the back overlap each other so the cushion fits snugly inside...</div>

I also made the cushion inserts as well, by sewing together some bamboo batting and filling with pillow filling..<b> </b>I have also made another one with the name Genevieve for Samantha's younger sister for her birthday but its not until next year ..So I have it packed away until then...Here are both of the completed cushions I think they are really sweet, I was very happy with how they turned out ...</div>

What ever you call it, its delicious ! <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWNUBuOvrrM1S_Slc5kr5Kn5lofmOHJl2_MFSDeqQVQerUoNNsSNkdaeEW22CouNQS8GcRjlKRAVYAW8uzZxVPqrIZS7Gn51CeuXrRW6vRDkRdLcRsEqHynNzVBMW-uXGZPXEe69llfyI/s1600/raw+nut+and+seed+slice.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWNUBuOvrrM1S_Slc5kr5Kn5lofmOHJl2_MFSDeqQVQerUoNNsSNkdaeEW22CouNQS8GcRjlKRAVYAW8uzZxVPqrIZS7Gn51CeuXrRW6vRDkRdLcRsEqHynNzVBMW-uXGZPXEe69llfyI/s1600/raw+nut+and+seed+slice.jpg" height="287" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>I've been making this recipe for the last few months and its so quick , easy ,raw and super healthy..And great for my Paleo eating plan...</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I call them my protein squares, but as I say no mater what you call them they are so delicious..Every time I make them they are slightly different as you can really use what ever ingredients you have on hand . You can also leave them chunkier in texture or more like fudge its really up to you it all depends how long you process them for...again either way they are just as delicious...I've done both ways..In my food processor I throw in the following ingredients...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Almonds.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
sunflower seeds.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Pumpkin seeds.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
sesame seeds.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
coconut dried.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
sultanas and or dates.<br />
flax-seeds.<br />
macadamia nuts. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
vanilla bean.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
walnuts.<br />
pinch celtic salt. <br />
raw cacao powder. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
raw cacao nibs.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Honey or coconut nectar.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Extra virgin coconut oil.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
tahini.</div>
I never measure I just throw in what I have..add dry ingredients first then add all the wet ingredients and process until well combined and moist and a little sticky..then I put it in a lined 9 inch square cake tin and press it all to the edges and nice and flat then I put it into the freezer for about an hour to firm up them I cut it into 64 sqaures ..you don't need to add all the above ingredients.try different combinations of what ever you like..<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEje6QB0HqcUr6QAJBTtMPGy355eTfwmez4K72bK9bUYBw8qXL8EWBE31HBanEuJUYQztbsSqbeaF1ihcxKkIqgt6cP_2ICvGXusSd6jVnHUHfstTFoPt9m4Y7xm6MCkdgjLwsjHL7-sySk/s1600/64+squares+of+seed+and+nut+slice...jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEje6QB0HqcUr6QAJBTtMPGy355eTfwmez4K72bK9bUYBw8qXL8EWBE31HBanEuJUYQztbsSqbeaF1ihcxKkIqgt6cP_2ICvGXusSd6jVnHUHfstTFoPt9m4Y7xm6MCkdgjLwsjHL7-sySk/s1600/64+squares+of+seed+and+nut+slice...jpg" height="272" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've made some with and some with out the raw cacao powder..</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
but you will need enough wet ingredients like the coconut oil & tahini to bind it together...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifqLJvUWwflClZDh9iz5OrdHr55iV8_Nk2XJIcXO39QctczPHed0ppMZA34ZDAtbBfkqom1j2h5dmDM6qEHiPqQ9zK7q2uPwUPUMk_iHO280T8huN100R_OpYFyjo3hKeP-XKGT1FQ92c/s1600/chocolate+raw+seed+and+nut+slice.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifqLJvUWwflClZDh9iz5OrdHr55iV8_Nk2XJIcXO39QctczPHed0ppMZA34ZDAtbBfkqom1j2h5dmDM6qEHiPqQ9zK7q2uPwUPUMk_iHO280T8huN100R_OpYFyjo3hKeP-XKGT1FQ92c/s1600/chocolate+raw+seed+and+nut+slice.jpg" height="274" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I store it in a large zip lock bag in the freezer ...</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
when I made another batch yesterday I weighed it and it was 1 kilo and 147 grams ...</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Note : I want to buy some hemp seeds and gojo berries to add to the mix...</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
options ..use cinnamon if you have no vanilla bean..you could also add other dried fruits eg apricots and apples..some of you will want exact measurements.. But once you make it once you can just taste it as you go...Its such a great snack to have between meals ...I find it very satisfying...Its way better then chocolate...After eating this I have no desire for chocolate...Its also very high in magnesium ..Just another reason so many people crave chocolate, because they are low in magnesium as cacao beans are high in magnesium.. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Rhubarb Champagne !</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Last week when Kev did the shopping he bought some rhubarb he really loves rhubarb and I'd had just recently came across a recipe for rhubarb champagne, so I thought what a great opportunity to make some ..So as you can see by the photo above I did just that..I did a google and there were lots of different recipes </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The one I used I changed it a little to suit myself ..as I usually do ...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
3 &1/2 cups of chopped rhubarb (I had 3 sticks which was just perfect)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
3 cups of white sugar. (original recipe was 3 & 1/2 cups)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
5 litres of rain water.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 whole lemon with skin on finely sliced.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 cups of kombucha ( I had a bottle that I had let go to vinegar) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
the original recipe was 3/4 a cup of apple cider vinegar.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkSdXByvAZmdMOV3UIlJh9lRwbdbyQsxyyLuIEHZRRnh0XbLNeEQmYpuwwmvD4dRFzlYewtWlG-apc0Zo70b01wuwcL7PpWgEvgc3wYSsxC78Vzw6xPY-0YH5tg4LMVBEtHIhWif6vXJg/s1600/rhubarb+cut+up+for+champagne.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkSdXByvAZmdMOV3UIlJh9lRwbdbyQsxyyLuIEHZRRnh0XbLNeEQmYpuwwmvD4dRFzlYewtWlG-apc0Zo70b01wuwcL7PpWgEvgc3wYSsxC78Vzw6xPY-0YH5tg4LMVBEtHIhWif6vXJg/s1600/rhubarb+cut+up+for+champagne.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So I washed and finely diced the rhubarb and put it into a big stainless steel pot with the sugar and water and sliced lemon and kombucha ..and stirred it to mix it all up well.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHpxW3kkNliFjo9oigClOBHnk0qq72vyjBS2OpDh2TIYk_WzvFIZZv_hcLlf9CBP4PhJP5xgQNXjwaj1ZLx1Huv3pktVtyUfMHjUjDP9r3TNgl16YAkhyphenhyphencaOuLgz0WbZpz6ibEZ0nLK5g/s1600/rhubarb+in+pot+with+cover.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHpxW3kkNliFjo9oigClOBHnk0qq72vyjBS2OpDh2TIYk_WzvFIZZv_hcLlf9CBP4PhJP5xgQNXjwaj1ZLx1Huv3pktVtyUfMHjUjDP9r3TNgl16YAkhyphenhyphencaOuLgz0WbZpz6ibEZ0nLK5g/s1600/rhubarb+in+pot+with+cover.jpg" height="320" width="315" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I covered the pot with a tea towel and secured it with an elastic band and left it for 48 hours the mixture needs to gather the natural yeasts in the air to start the
fermentation process.(apparently you must not leave it any longer or the rhubarb will sour the drink and it will be ruined).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I did mine at 10 am on Monday and strained it at 10am Wednesday .I then bottled it up in some saved plastic cool drink bottles that I've had for quite a while that I got a friend to save for me that I use for my ginger beer...I then put the bottles in my pantry and when using plastic when they feel really firm to touch you know its ready ..It should be ready in about 3 days - 2 weeks, depending on how fizzy you like
your drinks and the weather.. Chill before serving.I was surprised how quick it took to be ready ..especially as its winter here in Oz..</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The recipe said to discard the rhubarb either by giving to the chooks or in the compost I thought to myself what a waste..So I put it into a sauce pan added some peeled and chopped apples, some water and cooked it up it was delicious ..Kev had his with ice cream I had it with some milk kefir, yummy..This amount makes 5 and a half litres..This would make a very refreshing drink in the warmer months..and looks really pretty pink in glasses it would be nice for parties etc...Kev loved it but I found it a little bit too sweet, but I was thinking you could top it up with either water or sparking mineral water..When I make it again I might use less sugar ..</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
