I read Barb comment below and wanted to add that my daughter uses water only and it works for her too. We made the decision to eliminate (as much as possible) the lauryl sulphates in body care products from our lives hence the bicarb and water only hair washing. I will try smaller amounts that still achieve clean hair results..never been a fan of using powder, do you use it as a body deodorizer to absorb sweat and body odours... I never wear any deodorant haven't for well over 20 years, luckily I don't sweat very often at all... I do use the bi-carb mixed with cornflour as a powder but find that if I use too much it causes a rash so I would be wary about using it on my head...though it is rinsed out so should be OK...

Barb.Barb.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11383714327462070532noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2940728329760448667.post-2016196776683977162013-08-21T05:29:51.455+08:002013-08-21T05:29:51.455+08:00I haven't bought shampoo for over a year. For the wash, I place about 1/2 to 1 tablespoon of bicarb into a jug and add warm water (a couple of cups). The bicarb wash is followed by a water rinse then a vinegar rinse using couple of tablespoons of cider vinegar in a few cupfuls of water. When I run out of cider vinegar I use white vinegar. It has worked well. Lately I noticed that my scalps is a bit flakey. I might be rushing the water rinse and not getting all the bicarb out or I might need to reduce the amount of bi-carb I am using. But overall, very good and very affordable way to go.Jane Jerebhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00675123950152966800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2940728329760448667.post-6360000302029011662013-08-19T17:23:17.478+08:002013-08-19T17:23:17.478+08:00Hi Linda, yes it felt really squeaky clean..was qu...Hi Linda, yes it felt really squeaky clean..was quite amazed... was just reading Deb's comment above about her hairdresser saying not to do it very often, only once every 2 months, but I remember you saying you have done it for the last 3 years... She did say, however, that it was something that you should do only once every 2 months as it is a bit severe on the hair being so alkaline.DEBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17534287655485880530noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2940728329760448667.post-70977640513499052782013-08-18T19:01:08.602+08:002013-08-18T19:01:08.602+08:00I'm going to try it.
