Rice Paper Rolls !
They are so easy to make, they are great for a light lunch or dinner or are great to make if entertaining family or friends. You can fill them with lots of different fillings but these ones are filled with fried cabbage, onion, carrot, mince with a splash of tamari (wheat free soy sauce) and fresh basil leaves. You will need to buy some rice paper wrappers from your super market or Asian food store. You need to soak each rice paper wrapper in cold water for about 30 seconds until soft, lift out and fill with filling and roll up. You can serve with tamari or chili sauce for dipping. They are great to serve to gluten free family & friends. They are great if you need to take a plate to a family gathering, they are also great for the failsafe eating plan.

Another Use For Those Meat Trays!
These meat trays have so many other uses !
I know a lot of you greenies out there would say stop buying meat from the super markets & stop bringing them home. We do go to the butchers sometimes to buy our meat, but it isn't close by. Any way if you happen to have some they make great trays for my sons small mecanno parts, saves them from getting lost all over the floor. They are also great to use for lots of craft projects. They are also good for Lego and any little toys that have small pieces. I also take them to the school to the art room, where they use them for paint palettes & other craft activities. I did a post about using meat trays last year here is the post for other uses

A Great Sweet Treat Without Colours Or Flavours !
Here Is A Sweet Treat Without Nasty Colours Or Flavours !
I brought a packet of Lump sugar yesterday from our Asian store, this is a great idea for children or adults that are on the failsafe eating plan and cannot eat lollies(if sugar isn't a problem). They are made from sugar and water, you can suck and crunch them just like lollies. I know they aren't the healthiest choice, but for people eating the failsafe way, they can usually only eat pears, and we all need a little treat from time to time. They would make a lovely gift, just fill a jar with them and decorate with a fancy label and ribbons, the bag I brought is 400 grams and cost me $2.99. So for any one eating the failsafe way I think they would really appreciate a sweet treat. This could also be an option for any one who wants something sweet to suck from time to time with out all the colours & flavours and other nasty surprises in lollies today. Even the natural lollies aren't safe for failsafe eating, they have salicylates in them from fruit juice. They are also gluten & dairy free for people who are sensitive to them also.

Healthy Touch Fills Us With Love !
I came across this on the net the other day, it is so beautiful I just had to share it with you all.....This picture is from an article called "The Rescuing Hug". The article details the first week of life of a set of twins. Each were in their respective incubators and one was not expected to live. A hospital nurse fought against the hospital rules and placed the babies in one incubator. When they were placed together, the healthier of the two threw an arm over her sister in an endearing embrace. The smaller baby's heart stabilized and temperature rose to normal. I hope in future after this article they always keep twins in the same incubator, healthy touch is just amazing. I've always been a mum that loves hugging my boys I fill them with love and in return I'm filled with love !

Hugging Is Good For You !
HUGGING IS GOOD FOR YOU
I always knew that hugging felt good and made me happier. Here’s some other benefits:
Helps dispel loneliness
It slows down aging
It helps curb your appetite
Eases tension
Helps fight insomnia
Keeps arm and shoulder muscles in condition
Provides stretching exercise if you are short
Provides bending exercise if you are tall
Its a healthy alternative—better hugs than drugs
You need 3 hugs a day to maintain your health—more than that will actually help improve your health.
So get hugging!

Chocolate Cakes !
Chocolate Cakes !
This was an old recipe my mum had given to her from a friend when I was about 10 years old.
It was a Simplicity chocolate cake recipe, I have made a few changes over the years, the top has a nice biscuit crunchiness and underneath; light and fluffy. You can either make muffins or a cake,I always prefer to make them in muffin trays so much easier to serve, no cutting and crumbs, saves lots of mess and they cook quicker. I usually double the mixture to make 24 at a time because they freeze well, if doing so just use 3 eggs. Here is my version.
2 cups whole meal S.R flour.
1 cup sugar.
1 cup milk.
½ cup cocoa powder.
¼ cup olive oil.
2 eggs.
Method: Mix all ingredients well together, and cook in a preheated oven 160 degrees in my fan forced oven for 20-25 minutes( 190 degrees if not a fan forced oven), makes 12 large muffins. If making a big cake cook for 1 hour.
Serving suggestions, you can ice them with chocolate icing or serve them with a dollop of fresh cream & dust with icing sugar. To make icing just add some cocoa powder & icing sugar add some water to make a spreadable consistency, ice when they are cool. Note: They also freeze well, I freeze them in either a plastic bag or ice cream container and give them to Jack for his recess snack at school & Kevan for his morning tea.
Note:To make failsafe recipe, use another suitable oil, eg rice bran oil, butter or suitable margarine. If amines are a problem then replace cocoa powder with carob powder. If you have a problem with gluten & dairy, then use alternatives.
