Wood Carry Bag

Hi all ,
A few years ago I made a wood carry bag to carry wood inside for our slow combustion fire and lately with this cold weather its been burning most days/nights.The bag has been used most days. The bag is made of unbleached calico fabric with a handle each side to carry it. It is great it saves so much time and mess on the floor.I place it on the lawn and gather up all the small sticks that have fallen from the trees and the carry it inside and lie it in front of the fire then I take it outside and shake off any dirt. For the large wood I do the same. Then when not in use I hang it on a hook behind the curtain. It has so many uses , It can be used to collect fruit and vegetables from the garden, herbs, flowers. great to use as a washing basket while travelling takes up next to no space . I will take a photo of it and with Kev's help will me put it on here for all to see and if any one would like instructions to make one please just post and let me know and if anyone has any more suggestion to using it please post and tell me . I made one for my friend Regina A few years ago . and I was thinking of uses for them. You could carry a baby in it , not the same one that is used for the wood though.lol... a clean one of course.

Wheat packs

On Sunday late afternoon I made 2 wheat packs !
I used calico fabric and added 1&1/2 kilograms of wheat in each one with a few handfuls of dried lavender. I will make covers for them , like little pillow cases that can be taken off and washed.
I made them larger then others I have seen for sale, mine are 26cmx34cm. I like the idea that you can remove cover and wash it. I've never seen them for sale with removable covers. If you ever purchase them you could sew a small pillow case cover for it to save getting it dirty .
When I make the covers I will take a photo and post it so you can see them and if anyone needs instructions to make them I will also post . They make great gifts especially this time of the year, well really any time they are great also for aches and pains .

Pizza for dinner.

Last night we made pizza for dinner , I found a new recipe for making the pizza base. But I changed it to wholemeal flour, very rarely do I ever use white flour don't like it & no fibre.
Pizza base. ingredients 200g plain natural yoghurt, 2 & 1/2 cups wholemeal S.R flour mix together, if too dry add a little water. knead for a few minutes and press out thin on a well oiled tray so it doesn't stick . Then add any topping you like , we put pizza sauce, finely chopped onion, pineapple, black olives, finely chopped zucchini, finely chopped mushrooms, grated cheese and of course no pizza is complete with out anchovies ,my opinion of course.I used 2 trays that were 26cm x 38cm it made one and a half trays. my son made a cheese only pizza for his half . We cooked them in a fan forced oven 160 for 20 minutes. they were delicious. Kev and I had what was left over for lunch today.
Note: To make gluten free pizza base just use gluten free Self Raising flour with the yoghurt !

Hi all,
still trying to work out how this blogging works .
My mission is to simplify my life , to live a simple, healthy, relaxing life.
To do the things I enjoy and to get excited and passionate about the simple things in life.
Today sitting in my dinning room with the sunshine streaming in my nice freshly cleaned window watching the little blue & brown wrens outside flying about. And other days lying outside in the sunshine getting my vitamin D watching the native birds splashing in the bird
bath. Other days watching the kangaroos on our lawn and baby joey's jumping in and out of mums pouch. priceless
I love reading, sewing, cooking, looking after my family.
I love being in the kitchen making everything from scratch .
I love making gifts for my friends and family .
and trying to do my bit in helping look after the planet ,by recycling, reducing, reusing, rethinking .
saying no to plastic bags as much as possible , and buying only what I need ,still working on that one I keep on thinking I need things which I don't really .
